Lathe work, making a staff and stem, and repairing automatics are some of the areas of additional study in our watch repair school. Each student learns how to order parts, disassemble watches, clean mechanisms, and reassemble watches. Gem City College watchmaking school students learn hand and eye coordination, which is essential to this profession. Our graduates can be found throughout the nation in jewelry stores, watch repair shops, and in all areas of the watchmaking industry. Our watchmaking school’s training program is recognized throughout the United States as a much-needed industry leader. At the same time, available craftsmen are not able to meet all of the needs of the suppliers, technical operations, and jewelry and watch establishments. We recognize that the number of trained technicians, or watchmakers, in the United States continues to decline. It is our goal to prepare each graduate for the demands of customer service. Our watchmaking program is designed to give the student an understanding of practical watch work. As a watchmaking school or watch repair school, Gem City College is dedicated to our students’ development.
